How does PhoneCard.net work?

Call any phone from your mobile, home, work, smartphone, PC, or Mac. With a phone, simply call a local access number or our 800 number and enter the destination number or use our Internet softphones while connected to Wi-Fi, a wired connection, 3G, or 4G. The best part: our rates are as low as half a penny per minute. Make calls, donít break the bank.

Can I make Cheap Phone card calls right away?

After registration and approval, you can start our free trial right away. Weíll load a free $2 credit onto your account, so start calling! Easily fill up your account when the $2 is depleted to keep making calls.

Does Phonecard.net require a contract or charge fees?

No. We believe in absolutely no contracts and no hidden fees. Pay as you go for minutes and any special features youíve selected. Weíll show you exactly how long youíve talked and how much weíve charged you on your call details page.

Will I get a bill in the mail?

Paper bills are such a hassle. Youíll never get one from us! If you pay with a credit card, you may receive a paper bill from your credit card company, but never from Phonecard.net.

The country Iím calling has more than one rate listed. What does that mean?

The place youíre calling may have more than one cellular or landline provider in that city or country. The person youíre calling may have specific rate for their individual carrier.

What are the rates?

Our current rates are all listed on our rates page.

Are the rates higher if Iím calling a cell phone?

Sometimes. Look up the city or country youíre calling to see all the rate structures.

The location Iím calling has a ďmobileĒ rate listed. What does that mean?

Individual carriers are setting the rates for those calls. Sometimes there are different companies for landlines and mobile phones.

I donít see the city Iím calling listed on the Rates page. How do I know the rate?

If the city youíre calling isnít listed, your cost will be the basic country rate instead.

Are there any extra charges?

If youíve purchased a dedicated personal or virtual phone number, thereís a small monthly fee (starting at $1 per month for each service). Otherwise, weíll never charge any extra fees.

Does the money in my Phonecard.net account have an expiration date?

No, your account credit will never expire.

How do I add funds to my account?

Itís quickest to log in to your account and click one of the quick recharge options from the account dashboard.

How often do the Phone card calling rates change?

Not very often. Rates may slightly change for specific countries once or twice a year.

Does Phonecard.net have an app?

Yes! Any dialer that supports the G-711 and/or G.729 will work just fine. See our download page for instructions on downloading and configuring our dialers. We have approved dialers for PC Windows, Mac, Android, iPhone iOS, and Blackberry to use for Internet and Wi-Fi calling. You can also use another dialer if you prefer, but please note that we will not be able to provide support for non-approved smartphone dialers/clients.

Can my business use Phonecard.net?

Certainly! Using our services makes international calling a breeze for businesses. You can use our services from any type of phone line.

How to Make Calls with Phonecard.net

Can I use my Phonecard.net account from any phone?

Yes, youíll need to dial one of your local access numbers or 800 number. A list of these numbers can be found on your account dashboard after logging in. You can also use our services from a PC, Mac, or smartphone if you install one of our softphone dialers. We have mobile apps available for Android, iOS, and Blackberry.

How do I make a call from my cell phone?

If youíre using one of our approved Phonecard dialers, just dial the number of the person youíre calling. If you donít have a smartphone or an approved dialer, just dial your local access number, enter your account number, and enter the number of the person you wish to call. Note: When using an approved dialer and connected to the Internet via Wi-Fi, you wonít incur any data charges from your cell phone provider.

How do I make a call from my landline phone?

Dial your local access number, enter your account number, and then enter the number of the person you wish to call. To see a list of local access numbers, please log into your account.

My international call will not connect? What should I do?

For all technical problems, comments, or suggestions, please go to the contact page to call or send an email. Weíll address your concern as soon as possible.

Can I make multiple calls without hanging up my phone?

This feature is currently not supported.

Do I need a local access number?

You only need a local access number if you dial from a landline or mobile phone that is not connected to the Internet or running an approved softphone dialer. To see a list of local access numbers, please log into your account.

Can I use Phonecard.net to make calls while Iím outside the U.S.?

Yes. If your phone is compatible with the local countryís cellphone network, you can make calls. If your phone is not compatible, you can still make calls using a Wi-Fi connection or an international local access number. Please note that you may incur roaming charges from your cellular provider if you make calls via a 3G or 4G network (this applies to calls made with the smartphone app or a local access number). We recommend using a Wi-Fi connection when possible.

I am making an international call to a cell phone. Will the person I call be charged?

The person youíre calling will receive your call like any other call and will not be charged.

What is an international local access number?

This number is what youíll use when you call from a particular city or country. Find local access numbers at the bottom of your account offline access page after you log in.

How do I retrieve my Phonecard.net Account Number or Pin code?

If you donít receive the activation code after registration, you can request another code on the activation page. When logged in, your account number appears on the top of the page.

Can I change my Account Number? I have a new phone number and would like to use it as my account number.

Because your account is associated only with a user name and not a phone number, you only need to change your contact number in the event we need to reach you. If you have call forwarding and would like to change the number calls are forwarded to, thereís an option to change this number on the personal number manage feature page.
